100% I kept going back and forth (and still sort of am) about like him or not! If I re-watch this I'm going to give a big side eye to Gumpa every time he's on screen hahahaha

XDXD I loved this episode. There were so many good and touching scenes but what stands out most to me is Dan's confession. (And not because of a Gawin bias -- though I will admit that I have one LOL) I just think Dan's crushing guilt is just so palpable and hard to witness. Not everyone's gonna do something so life-changing as shooting an unarmed person, but I think everyone has felt that hopeless shame and regret at least once in our lives. Dan's character does such a supreme job of depicting that. The two different scenes of Sean and White running away from each other kills me. XD While probably not intended to be funny, it just tickles me that it's a very literal interpretation of "running away from your problems" XD Also the background music in this series is super! Thank you, Fabi!!! (I'm waiting until the weekend to watch the last episode of UWMA cause I don't wanna have to go to work in the morning looking like I pepper-sprayed myself. XD;;;;)

2025-04-04 04:00:12 +0000 UTCSean is such a complicated character, which makes for a fun show but a complicated relationship with wether you’re supposed to like him or not. Those kinds of characters feel more realistic to me because the human experience is dissonance and hypocrisy a lot of the time. We strive to be better people but we often fall short and resort to learned behaviors that may not be very appropriate. There is no argument about wether or not he needs therapy though. He 100% does and so do most of these characters 😅 On another note, Gumpa knowing White was acting as Black the entire time makes so much sense. I clocked it early on in my first watch but watching it again with you when I don’t have to even question it, all of his actions towards White just screams ”teaching the new kid the ropes” 😅 Also his satisfied smile in the back of the outdoor shower scene when White tells Gram and Yok that he’s not Black makes me crack up 😂
