HIM

Adam curves his blade around the apple, peeling off the red skin in one long ribbon.

He tosses the ribbon into the trash before starting on the next apple, not even bothering to eat the first, just wanting something to keep his hands busy.

A scowl twists at his lips as he stares down at the fruit, his nails biting into the pulpy flesh almost accusingly.

The more time that passes, the deeper his agitation.

Adam: How long are you going to keep us fucking waiting?

He says, his eyes locking onto your motionless form, your body hooked up to a number of IV drips, an oxygen mask donning your face.

When you don't answer, he grinds his teeth before turning back to the second apple.

His foot taps in tandem with your heart rate monitor.

Fuck.

He fucking hates this restless feeling.

It frays at his nerves, starting from his fingertips, shooting all the way down to his toes, making sitting still an impossible task.
