Devlog 7/8/23 💻✨

Oh my gosh, it's been a wild almost 2 weeks since the release of chapter 1 + mini chapter 1. There was a pretty big dialogue bug I had to fix (sections of text were being skipped over) & there were some differences in how the game performed on computers VS tablets/phones, but hopefully it runs better now. I'm sure there are still lots of bugs but thank you to everyone who gave suggestions. 

(Big thank you to Avery for pointing out that the chapter scroll arrows' functions should be reversed on the start screen. I've fixed that, and it should be good for the next chapter release.)

Major Change 1: Added a settings menu
It was also suggested that I add an option to change the dialogue typewriter effect speed. Now players will be able to disable it entirely. I also wanted to add a 'mute music' option. Thus, the most basic settings menu:

Major Change 2: Finished writing the script for chapter 2
I always forget how long writing all the dialogue and stuff takes. Holy heck! I know everyone writes at different speeds, but I think I am especially slow. It took probably 9 hours for me to complete the base script. After I have the base script, I am able to create all the art for the chapter. After all the assets are done, and I've put them into the game, I go back and refine + create script variations (since the dialogue changes depending on a player's anatomy choices).
I don't want to spoil what happens in the chapter, but I will say that chapter 1's sex scene markdown file was around 1,423 words long, while chapter 2's is around 3,000 words so far.

Major Change 3: Worked on new character portraits
Made some dialogue portraits for characters appearing in this chapter + adjusted some old portraits. I hope the teal haired girl doesn't look too much like Miku. After I was done drawing her, I was like ah shit, I did not just draw a teal haired lady with pigtails. Still, I think she's pretty cute.
I'm still not completely satisfied with Theo's portrait, but I will keep adjusting it. 

Note to self: get better at drawing masculine people. I'm a huge sapphic, but c'mon now...

Major Change 4: Worked on backgrounds
I already had Lilith's room drawn, but now I've started working on a club scene background.

The rooms always look so empty before I add character sprites over them + lighting, animations, & particle effects.

• Add all assets to the game 
• Finish all parts outside of the sex scene (sex scenes take the longest) (semi-unrealistic goal, but we'll see)
