As an middle eastern Muslim I can say that you’re a 100% right about the heartbreaking and terrible treatment towards the whole lgbtq community. It has literally thrown me into my deepest spirals just thinking about it. I spoke up against the treatment and culture that perpetuates this violence at a large Islamic community intrafaith dinner in Chicago and let me tell you. Reception was bad. I got 84 emails from various “community” leaders essentially bullying me for my speech and only one message of support. Turns out the hijabi who supported me was a closeted herself and afraid to come out. I was 22 years old and I lost my job at the largest Islamic non profit in the US as a result of my speech

Nick my husband has a lot of food allergies and really chronic eczema. He’s a GP and we often discuss the effects of food on his physical and mental well being. We find that food really changes his mood and personality even...we have been trying for years to track what foods they could be. So totally agree with your observations. This stuff is incredibly under studied.

I really wish you didn't feel like you had to apologize about what you ended up discussing. If someone wants to have an attitude about you advocating for fundamental human rights, they can kick rocks.
