I think at least a clone of Jyraia was always watching naruto, I mean, how else would he know to bring the exact same popsicle ? I think that's a clue that he was always watching.

Yes it's sad and understandable for Naruto to want someone to be around for help especially for his age and what he's gone through however helping someone at the moment might not help them in the long run especially in their ninja world.

2025-09-23 08:04:58 +0000 UTCThe first time I watched Naruto I hated this little training bit because I just wanted to get on to more action, but now that I've seen the show more times than I'd like to admit, I feel like this is a pretty special moment. Gives the viewer a chance to slow down and really get a sense of what Naruto has to do to develop as a ninja and as a character. Good stuff.

2025-09-23 02:57:25 +0000 UTCIf you think about it, Jiraiya is teaching Naruto to be independent with this new jutsu. In the ninja world, being a shinobi is basically synonymous with being an adult. Naruto wants to be treated as a real ninja, so he's gotta learn to figure things out for himself. It's a little harsh on Jiraiya's part, but it's good for Naruto in the long run.

2025-09-23 00:48:55 +0000 UTCI always thought jiraiya was too harsh on Naruto, but you gotta remember that the fourth was his student that died and the third hokage was his teacher and he’s probably still mourning him. I think he was trying to avoid attachment from both sides for the worst case scenario but probably couldn’t help it in the end.
