Deckard in "Blade Runner", Humphrey Bogart in "The Maltese Falcon", even Clint Eastwood in any of his serious movies like "Dirty Harry". Comes from "hard-boiled" vs "soft-boiled" eggs. A soft-boiled egg still has a runny soft yolk, but a hard-boiled egg has no soft spots, it's hard through and through.
