When they were walking, I was saying to myself "omg it's coming.." lol. Anyway, I totally get Chinatsu. It can definitely make things awkward because she is living in Taiki's house, but the other thing is that she would feel like she’s betraying not only her parents who she promised to focus on basketball but especially Taiki's family, since they are making a big effort to help her achieve her goals, and then she gets too close to their son. I think she realized this after talking to Taiki's dad. (sorry if my english is bad)
