unnie/noona can also mean "sister" just like oppa/hyung can also mean "brother", but most of the time all of these honorifics are used to address any older person (based on gender) in a more friendly/informal way :D and you're welcome!

2025-01-15 15:25:48 +0000 UTCSo in Korea, there are some ways to address an older person: - Hyung: used by men to call an older man (just like Ali calling Sang-woo "hyung", and Jun-ho calling his brother "hyung") - Oppa: used by women to call an older man - Noona: used by men to call an older woman (just like Thanos telling his 'friend' to call that girl "noona") - Unnie: used by women to call an older woman Young-mi calling Hyun-ju "unnie" instead of "oppa" is super important and heartwarming, because that means she acknowledges Hyun-ju as a woman. You can also see by the acting that Hyun-ju seems surprised (but happy at the same time) everytime Young-mi calls her "unnie" 🥺
