thank you so much for answering my question! it means a lot to hear more about your thoughts, especially to hear about you and your past life. you are literally the only person i use patreon for lol. i’m glad it’s only you. i similarly resonate with yuki the way you said you did. the only difference is that his emotions and qualities were literally me back during my first years at university. a word that comes to mind is imposter syndrome. i feel like yuki and i and maybe even you, alana, feel that way to some capacity. everyone sees me as this genius and stuff and it’s a little bit weird to be honest. it made me feel detached from people like you said. i am currently on track to graduate this spring and i’ve only come to make like one or two close friends at university lol. lastly, thank you for bringing up this idea about “monthly resolutions.” i’ve never really looked at resolutions this way lol. i always think about the shigure’s laundry pile speech all the time and it honestly helps me get through every day work. feelings of being overwhelm still lurk but i always come back to shigure’s speech and things just get done one by one. As i said when i asked the question, i am happy this show has inspired me to be more open about my emotions and im glad it has inspired you to do the same :) p.s. i am literally watching this and writing this comment a day before an interview i have for graduate school. i think seeing this will bring me great confidence for this interview! thank you so much! i hope we can talk more in the future.

2025-02-05 07:53:47 +0000 UTCi totally get you with the whole initial opinion regarding tohru thing djajdjsh she’s without a doubt a character that i came to love and appreciate after growing as a person lol the thing i love so much about this show is that it depicts that kindness isn’t a weakness. i feel like it can be so easy to disregard her character as just “nice” or be viewed as boring when there’s so much more to her

2025-01-13 06:39:35 +0000 UTCThank you so much for the Q&A. Fruits Baskets was the first anime and manga that I have ever completed (the old school anime). I am an anime fan because of this series and I am so glad you covered it.

2025-01-13 02:06:17 +0000 UTCoh my gosh thank you for this q&a!! I loved listening to all your answers & reasonings. Getting to re-experience the story alongside your reaction videos was such a great time. Your enthusiasm for Yuki made me love him even more than I already did, and your reactions to Momiji made me appreciate him more this time around too ;-; he is so great. Thank you for sharing your Fruits Basket journey <3 I hope you do end up reading the manga one day, maybe on a day when you're missing fruba :') I know I always find something new to appreciate whenever I return to a story I love, so I wish the same for you! c:

2025-01-13 00:56:06 +0000 UTCThank you very much for answering my question! This show was so emotional and the first part of the show was setting up superficial impressions of the characters that they delved in deeper as the show went on, and Akito’s hatefulness wasn’t really dealt with until after the Great Bath Reveal. I think we were really supposed to hate her, as much as the zodiac did, but also feel helpless watching what she did, just as much as the zodiac’s felt. Sorry for rambling, I feel like college courses could be given on this show! Thank you again, for your reactions and sharing with us!

2025-01-12 21:31:38 +0000 UTCThe end of a journey. So sad. This is truly one of the very best, not just anime, but human stories ever told. Very few pieces of art have ever moved me so emotionally the way Fruits Basket has.
