None of us were prepared. Even those that read Manga. Jesus how much you can do with Animation if you really want to. It was harrowing. Even "just" the portions about poverty - yes it was nice, but in the back of your mind you had - "she is working many jobs to have just basics for her and her daughter". I want to swear so much. Kensuke Ushio deserves a freaking medal for all the music in all the episodes. Him and Evan Call (Violet Evergarden, Frieren) kind of show how they are currently the best duo in - at least sort of mainstream - Anime.
