2024-11-15 01:32:17 +0000 UTCYou're the first reactor i've seen that noticed she jumped off a building out of grief, and you were right. Most think she bleeds out on the street and thats her in the afterlife dancing . They censored this and one of her "jobs" (tho the "job" was easier to notice. The manga is more explicit and clear about both and show her clearly jumping off. Also to add, those were debt collectors/pimps that came to take her child, you can see she takes part of the money shes earned out of an envelope to buy the dress, and they go through that same envelope saying she was holding out on them. Its such a tragic shortstory but i think the anime did such an amazing job of portraying it and honestly i think even with the censorship, elevated the material. It's a tough watch though :'(

2024-11-15 01:29:18 +0000 UTCI've re-read the manga multiple times and this episode still absolutely destroyed me while knowing it was coming. They did the flashback so beautifully even the little details like the curry in silky's bowl going smaller portions throughout. It is a bit more graphic/straightforward in the manga, assuming the studio had to be a bit more discreet with it for broadcasting which I am completely fine with.
