2024-11-14 15:41:31 +0000 UTCAaaah, this is one of my favorite episodes in season two despite all the trauma. For one, Kyo's realization that he loves Tohru is just beautiful. The "she stayed with me" and "I love you" just hit so hard. But my favorite scene is the one with the flower, and Kazuma telling Kyo that even if he doesn't have hope right now, it will come to him again. Again and again, it will bloom.

2024-11-14 00:40:52 +0000 UTCI'm saving most of my thoughts until I watch the second episode but OH MY GOD Miyuki Sawashiro was the Japanese actress for Chidori + Elizabeth in Persona 3 + all related adaptations/tie-ins, minus the stage productions. If I didn't recognize her by this point (don't ask how many times I've watched the films) I'd have to kick myself - that's 100% Kyoko w/Kyo in the flashbacks. "I won't forgive you" was also her and, uh, excuse me, what.

Kyo is such a softy when it comes to Tohru and him realizing his feelings, the will to not give up even though he is feeling defeated because of Akito and the bet and all the previous losses, argh. Also the reveal that Kyo and Kyoko met each other is so damn fitting as he remembers the lesson from Shisho about meeting people that will support and accept you, because by what we know from Kyoko thus far in the story, we know she would have being a light to little Kyo.
