I've liked Hatori since his initial introduction but he's rapidly climbed the ranks to be my favorite of the older zodiac members. Shigure enjoys riling people up, both for the reactions he gets and for whatever goals he's working towards and Hatori is 100% right, he should stop involving the *actual children* because he's putting them in actual physical danger. And yeah, it really does seem like Kureno is Yuki's replacement. Akito won't even let Kureno see the other zodiac members and it really does seem like Kureno has given up on having a life outside the compound at all. Is he ever *not* masking his emotions? Even with Uo, his persona only flickered for a moment. That scene on the beach was gutting. Can't help but think that the other reason Yuki compares Tohru to the sky is because of his (trauma-influenced) emotional distance. Much like Kureno, Yuki is masking constantly. Being vulnerable feels dangerous (and given Akito's behaviour, it probably has been). Which, when he sees how well Tohru has responded to Kyo being open...well, it just makes things worse because he doesn't know how to be that way.

The self awareness and discovery that Yuki, Kyo and Tohru have during it is really great and I love how they explore their dynamics this season. I appreaciate your reaction and thoughts about what is going on, it has been very fun to go through it with you :)
