First off, bravo to Yuma Uchida, absolutely incredible performance. That bit after Kyo returned to being human was *crushing*. While I had an angry knee-jerk reaction to Kazuma removing the bracelet without consent, in hindsight with the additional background from this episode, I think I get it. Maybe not the *best* choice but an extremely understandable one. Better to find out now if Tohru can be his "replacement" in Kyo's life, before Kyo has reached the point where losing her support would break him completely. Kazuma loves his son so much and he has to have been truly terrified of what Kyo might do to himself to have taken that chance at all. (Also, I am a horrible person but the cat's true form looked sort of like a pokemon. I looked up the manga art and while I get the body horror of it for Kyo regardless, I do wish they hadn't softened him for the adaptation. While the design is more or less the same, the original art is definitely more unsettling) Poor Yuki is a mess. He wants acknowledgement from Tohru and he's clearly jealous of how easily she accepts Kyo, but it doesn't feel *entirely* like romantic jealousy given the things he talks about on the stairs. There's a lot of self-loathing happening here and the kabedon and flirting come off as a distraction from that. He's trying too hard to seem fine for her. This kid is gonna explode at some point. (And now we have *Sephiroth's* VA in the cast too (Kazuma). How many Final Fantasy VII folks are we gonna end up with by the time this is over? The new unnamed guy on the steps is 100% Loid Forger and I cannot wait for more of that character)

I think only one other YouTuber duo that I'm aware of did this anime, and I never really vibed with them. Season 2... Rin... she is one of my favorite characters in the entire story. This story has so many layers you'd think it's some sort of freakish mutant onion... not to mention the amount of times the onion cutting ninjas just slam you with tears. I felt so bad that you didn't have your tissues handy XD Hopefully that won't happen again to you. ♥ Very excited for S2!

2024-10-28 18:14:51 +0000 UTCSo much does happen in season 2, and it is huge, the tree seasons are like a concert of emotions. Season one is like the intro and setting the themes, season 2 is when the full orchestra is taking the themes and builds on the main one which is revealed as the undercurrent of the whole, and builds into a crescendo, while season 3 winds down as the themes come to a conclusion, centered around the main theme. It is beautiful, emotional, and so satisfying by the end.
