100% agree with what you said about people complaining about DS's overarching story being simple. That's the thing tho, DS isn't even trying to have a complex story. DS is ALL about the characters, their personalities, relationships, their backstories and their stories in the plot, and DS is one of the best shows at what it sets out to do. We have so little actual Rengoku content in the show and look what an impact he had! That's what DS is about.

When the master was talking about eternity is the human will it reminded me of a One Piece quote were a character said "that a man doesn't die from a bullet, disses, if he's heart stops or poison, he dies when he's forgotten" and that quote has stuck with me since I heard it which was 10+ years ago.

And talk about a character pull, the guy who created the blood spikes was the man that tanjiro tackled after muzan scratched him the first time tanjiro and muzan met waaaaay back in season 1. If I'm remembering right Tamayo helped him during his transition as a demon and he swore to pay her back and this was his revenge against muzan.
