2024-03-13 14:04:17 +0000 UTCThe anime actually toned down the torture that Subaru endured. Rem repeatedly tortured him and then would heal him, just to torture him again. It went on for quite a while. They also cut out a scene where after Subaru tells Emilie “Have nothing to do with me.” She comes back later and feeds him because he’s refused to eat. So that just shows how genuinely kind Emilia is, especially since she defends him later when she has practically no reason to. Rem also makes the meal that Emilia feeds him specially for him to be easy in his stomach since he hadn’t eaten in a few days.
