2024-02-05 17:44:18 +0000 UTCThis episode always makes me think of the fact that Frieren will outlive Fern as well and how tough that will be on her, as Frieren has essentially been an adoptive mother to her. It makes sense why Elves seem emotionally distant and uninterested, if they were as passionate as humans their long life-spans would be torturous.

2024-02-05 15:15:43 +0000 UTCThe last conversation between Frieren and Voll really hit me, as Frieren realized that he was no longer pretending to be senile, he really was finally losing memories. I lost my father to Alzheimer's, and my brother started to develop dementia near the end of his life as well. This whole series, the manga and the anime, dealing with memories of loved ones and friends, and their importance really hits home with me. Like you said, I can't think of many episodes of this series that don't make me cry just a bit.

2024-02-05 15:01:40 +0000 UTCthe way Frieren smiles when thinking of Himmel and his handsome poses 🥲 i feel that Himmel must have saw Frieren and himself when Voll was talking about his wife. he could have confessed and pursued Frieren, but after that, this would be the burden she would have to carry as the long lived one. it would be better for her to choose to love another despite her lifespan. and he loved her enough to wait his entire life. oh dear im teary eyed again i can't with this show!!
