FYI Yuki (ιͺ) is also snow in Japanese, which gives a whole new meaning to the poetic question she asked herself: Is love like snow (Yuki)? Does it arrive silently, with no fanfare? Yes, Yuki does usually arrive silently, since she does not speak. Is Yuki love? Maybe not, but she certainly is in love :P

I know you love romance animes with adult characters and some romance development so I'll just throw Golden Time in there and hope you look into it some time.

2024-01-07 01:37:53 +0000 UTCA Sign of Affection the Manga has been around since 2019, but for the past couple of years in Japan there have been a slew of live-action shows that feature Deaf characters. There is an ongoing show on NHK called The Deaf Voice whose main character is a sign language court interpreter. Perhaps as a result, my Deaf friends in Japan say that they have recently started noticing more and more people, esp. in businesses, who can sign. I hope this anime will continue the good trend.

2024-01-06 22:24:59 +0000 UTCA Deaf friend of mine in Japan recommended the manga to me a few years back, and I liked it a lot. I am excited about the anime version! I'm a beginning JSL student and when, in the opening credit and on the train platform, Itsuomi signed after holding Yuki's hands and brightly smiled, I went "???" His signs were [world] [more] [democratic] so far as I could tell. I interpreted the signs to mean "The world is more about people." I need to look at the manga again. No, I'm gonna cheat and ask my Deaf friend. Edit: My Deaf friend just told me he was merely signing "The world is broader." I got hooked by his using the handshape for "people."
