2024-03-12 17:53:49 +0000 UTCi can not believe you skipped thorfinn's recap, hatred and strife,death and destruction, despair and regret, sadness and rebirth. this is literally the whole message and the lesson, character development is what makes this a masterpiece, an anime about vikings we all underestimated, misjudged, and regretted all of that. this was a huge surprise for anyone, and for me its top 5. its up there where the best are over 1000, 500, 300 episodes

2024-01-06 03:06:08 +0000 UTCJust fyi, In the manga Helga tell Thorfin "You have your father's eye" instead of "You look like your father". Which is a payoff from season 1, when Thorkell told Throfinn that he didn't learn anything from Thors since Thorfin don't have Thors' eyes.

2024-01-06 00:47:35 +0000 UTCWould definitely recommend checking out the first 100 chapters of VS in the manga. There's a few small differences here and there but the big thing is the detail. Thorfinns face after Askelaad dies sent chills down my spine, the anime does it well but the manga captures so much more emotion imo. Sadness, confusion, fear. So much in just that one panel, it's great.

2024-01-05 23:17:55 +0000 UTCActually the Vinland Saga staff is nearly the same as from S1, they had to change studios because WIT nearly went bankrupt. I believe before 2025 we won't get a new season. Last time they announced the production of S2 like one and a half years before it aired so I believe it will be the same this time. The director indirectly said that they will do S3 but we don't have an official announcement yet from the production companys.

Thorfinn made me want to be a better man, and really made me think on how I view violence. Season 1 and 2 has its own strengths, but one really cannot exist without the other imo. So I can't pick a favorite! Fun fact for the episode: Gothi was a community leader in the nordic and scandinavian areas at this time. It used to be a kind of pagan priesthood, but became more of a general leader and decision maker for a village.

2024-01-05 21:20:03 +0000 UTCYou'll want to purchase any number of books from book 1 to book 7 of the Vinland Saga manga (chapters 1 - 100) for seasons 1-2, and book 8 is the start of season 3 (chapter 101). It'll be good to have the manga as you'll be able to read the author's thoughts on things, have those powerful moments in print, and support the Vinland Saga series. At the end of the episode, we see some of the people who had the greatest impact on Thorfinn's life, and the age they started their individual journeys. Thorfinn is about to start his journey, and it will be one hell of a journey with some very low moments for him, but it will also have some very high moments. Back in 2019, when I was sitting on the couch and had nothing to do, I came across this anime as I was looking for something to watch. I saw little snippets and trailers of the anime, and had zero interest in watching it, but decided to do so out of boredom. I soon myself binging on the show, and it ended up becoming my favorite show of all time in recent decades. We'll probably have to wait 1-2 years for season 3 to come out, and while I don't really watch any of the other anime you're reacting to, I'll continue supporting your Patreon as I do with other reactors. In any case, have patience as the wait is well worth it.

2024-01-05 20:30:32 +0000 UTCThis anime gets a lot of flack from people regarding S2, for the direction it took, but I personally could not have asked for a better direction to take for this story. I'm so happy that there are also many people enjoying this anime, because it sends such a compelling and integral message. With the state of the world right now, it's easy to fall into a pessimistic mindset, but I think Vinland Saga provides an outlook that feels right and feels meaningful. Without me trying to sound too pretentious, Thorfinn feels like a symbol of what true good is, the kind of good that exists outside of laws, conditions or the reality of the world. He is good, not for a goal or an ambition or even because a law says to be good. He is good because it's necessary to him and necessary for the world to move forward. I think there's a lot to learn from a story like this, and I hope that we see Vinland Saga's idea of good appear more in media in the future! Thank you so much for reacting to this Alana, I really think you're one of the most wholesome and intelligent content creators I've found in the reaction content scene. I'm excited for Frieren!

2024-01-05 19:46:38 +0000 UTCUnfortunately Mappa didnβt include this moment here but when his sister cut his hair she instantly knew that it was the real Thorfinn through the shape of his head (she used to cut his hair back in the day). She then told him to get married and find a wife as well. He didn't want to shave his beard tho since in his culture it's shameful for a man to not have a beard. But his sister shaved it off while he was sleeping. After being laughed at, Einar said he looks less threatening. When he heard that, he decided to stay beardless which highlights where Thorfinn values are from now on and sets the tone for the upcoming seasons and his adventures. Thorfinns story is far from over! Please feel free to read the manga and maybe tend to react to the chapters as well!! Depending on how long it takes for S3 to come out.
