i've heard great things about this show from you guys as well as friends in my life and so i thought i'd give it a go! i have been consuming a lot of intense and emotional stories lately so i thought this would be a good change of pace as well, and a nice replacement for wotakoi :)
i'm already very pleasantly surprised with this first episode, so i can't wait to see more heheh

2023-11-08 02:37:40 +0000 UTCI have read all 31 volumes of the original manga, and I am just amazed by the author's output, in particular his talent to come up with unique names for characters. Every single name has a pun of sorts built in. One character I am especially fond of, who also shows up in the anime, is a boy by the name of Kometani Chuushaku, roughly equivalent to "Asterisk Footnote" because he always provides a quick commentary to explain the given situation. There is also a very nicely-done live action version of Komi Can't Communicate, aired by NHK.

FYI, all the names in the show are Japanese puns that refer to a character's main quirk or personality trait: Tadano Hitohito is an average guy (tada no hito = just a person) Komi Shouko can't communicate (komyushou = communication disorder)
