It's important to separate art from the artis, and it's not like they were the only person who was involved in making the show. Just brought it up if we're talking about things around the show that are a damn shame.

For example the game Hirotaka is playing is a real game (monster hunter) and the sign advertising a movie in the train that Narumi sees everyday and fangirling about (can't blame her, is best girl Kato Megumi) is a real Light Novel series with anime adaptation.

It's huge, with hundreds of thousands of attendees, there's a Summer Comiket and a Winter Comiket, held at the Tokyo Big Sight convention center. Narumi being a doujinshi artist and Hana being a crossplayer they would naturally cross paths. They apparently also attend fan get-togethers for various shows and games as well.
