I lost count of how many times I've seen this ending already, it's just perfect. I'm happy that you enjoyed the show so much, it was fun watching along once more. There is plenty of source material left and AFAIK the light novel is still ongoing, so I still got faith that we get to enjoy season 2 one day :).

Iirc it explains some hints to stuff from the novel that they couldn't fit into the anime in detail, some stuff the author talked about on twitter, and it beautifully illustrates some of the visual symbolism you may have missed. I would recommend you to look at the ending song LilaS with lyrics on, it match perfectly with how Lena think, well this song was made especially for this moment in the anime. Oh and did you know that the name of this song LilaS mean Lena is looking after Shin. One more thing you can watch if you want more from this show are the 3 videos of "86 Eighty Six - Details And Symbolism You Missed" wich are really well made.
