Dangers in my Heart just finished its spectacular 2nd season, and absolutely as good or just under Frieren! Both are the best of all time in their category, and Dangers thoroughly deserve it's season sweep of being #1 EVERY SINGLE WEEK on Anime Corner. Long story short, please please please reconsider reacting to this legendary anime. I know by the end of season 1 and especially season 2, you'll be a changed person. It's the only anime that's just as good as Frieren not just this season, but this year.

hmmm… f*cking sucks tbh. Y’all gotta remember tho: respectfully, Alanas a girl—a lot of these shows (like danger and toradora) get written to cater to guys romantic fantasies both young and old. I know I hate to admit that too. Had to hella humble myself when when a girl called me out on my love of certain guy-tropes in romance animes. How most of the time girls wouldn’t be able to relate. Hence why shoujo storylines (like Yamada-kun) don’t necessarily pull at my heart as it did for Alana. Lmao will give you credit, watching Danger right after 86 and Yamada-kun would’ve been tough for anybody. Just doesn’t quite measure up. Love your reactions would’ve been dope to see you ride it out.

Clannad and Afterstory is one that you will want to watch along with a more light hearted show when it eventually wins. Without spoiling it, the show hits a lot of very serious subjects, and it does not pull its punches.

You forgot the golden rule in watching anime. You are supposed to give it 3-4 episodes befofe dropping it. That's why most anime ends in cliffhanger when it is episode 3 or 4.

Damn sounds sucks I fall asleep at Ep 2 XD, but I used to finish every anime series at once. So these 20+ episodes need more energy for me to finish at once, but l’m pretty sure I would find a good timing picking it back. What I tried to say is that different situations for different people to watch different anime, so there is no need to judge for dropping an anime. There are tons of anime to watch for me, every weekend two or even three anime finished at once XD Time is money.

At moments I didn't even wanna watch but I ended up finishing it and the second half was decent. Vinland saga is a masterpiece, people talk trash on season 2 but it was amazing for anime enthusiasts. What I am paying for is to enjoy watching a show "together" with you. If you are not enjoying the show, then I am going to enjoy watching with you either. It is a simple as that. Then we drop that show and pick something else. Watching someone cringe and feel uncomfortable just sounds awful so I'd rather watch you with a show I enjoy less but which you enjoy more. I think we who voted forgot that you probably don't have the angsty-edge-boy background. A lot of us can relate to him because we were the same in middleschool or highschool, but you cannot so it is just gonna look cringy (which it is to anyone watching from the outside). I will keep this in mind more, if I believe that you will enjoy the show as much as I will, when I vote in the future. If we don't it will just lead to these awkward moments where you have to drop a show. Anyway! Let's move on. Wotakoi seems like a cure adult romcom and I tried watching vinland saga and had to drop it because I didn't vibe with it. But maybe I will give it another try with you!

I'm curious to see how you would take "Ancient Magus Bride" (made magic feel magical again for me) or "A Place Further Than the Universe" (grown man cried, but not a sad show). I look at the polls differently. They are to me the patreons' way of saying to Alana that we want her to TRY a particular anime among multiple choices. They are not a device to compel her to FINISH watching anything regardless of how she feels about it. A poll does not and should not take away Alana's freedom to be true to her own feeling about what she watches. Besides, she is not someone who whimsically and regularly drops an anime midstream. That she genuinely felt she had to drop something this time deserves respect, a poll or no poll. What fun would it be anyway to watch Alana react to something she is watching only because she has to?

You should never apologize for not liking something. Nothing is liked by 100% of the people. Having said that, I may end up unsubscribing for awhile. I haven't enjoyed what's been watched for a couple of months now. I know people think Eighty-six is the best thing since sliced bread, but I didn't care for it, and Yamada-kun definitely wasn't my speed. But hey, it was a good year and some change of watching for my sub to this Patreon, and it was definitely fun. I'm sure I'll be back again when you start watching something I'm interested in.

I can understand your decision for sure, it's not an anime for everyone and it does have a hard start to get through but as some others have also mentioned I have to agree that it does get a lot better later on^^ Not sure if anyone has thrown out these suggestions yet but I think you'd like Iroduku: The World in Colors and Tada Never Falls in Love a lot. They're both really cute animes and while short, have proper writing and pacing and you connect with the characters a lot. Some very underrated hidden gems that I as a huge romance anime watcher personally can't recommend enough :)

Hi Alana. Hopefully you watch it in your own time. It's a show that does romance the cute way. The way we've forgotten in shows, the way way where one constantly thinks of the other person. The MC is just a day dreamer (a trope in anime) and believes he doesn't need friends because of the dangers in his head. But slowly the FMC makes him feel accepted and you see that he's only a fluff ball. It's a story about acceptance of themselves and how it's okay, how love really doesn't have to be physical attraction.

Totally fair assessment and probably why it comes down to preference. Me being someone that likes that they are very authentic to how kids their age acts adds to the story while in MDUD they really don't. I don't think it really is about the fictional age of the characters is about the way they act. I haven't watch "The dangers in my heart" so maybe i'm wrong, but from what i have heard the male protagonist is this chunibyo edgy/cringy guy and the female protagonist is a inocent airheaded girl and with "My dress up darling" is a shy guy and an extrovert girl that interact in a way that if you were told they are 17/18 or a litle older instead of 15 you wouldn't bat an eye. It's Just my opinion but that's why i think some people might say its beacause the "age". 👍

Hey Alana, IF Clannad (surely it's next... right?) or a different long multi-season chiller show gets polled next, would it be for Wotakoi's T/Th slot since it's chiller or Vinland's M/W/F slot since it's longer? My vote would be T/Th + possibly move it M/W/F once Vinland ends. Clannad has 49 total episodes btw and the latter episodes are very character and story-driven like 86 and Vinland.

Joined your Patreon for 86 but you starting Vinland saga straight after is just *chefs kiss* soo exciting!! It’s such a great spiritual successor to 86 with its themes, character driven journey etc. Also I remember having fun with wotakoi too so it would be great to revisit with you. Very similar Yamada kun vibes. It’s definitely a smart idea to have different genres of stuff you’re watching simultaneously. Also smart to stop watching something that you aren’t feeling. I’ve personally never watched the series you dropped but I think 4 episodes for a short series is fair enough to get an idea if it gels with you. I’ve watched people try to battle through a series that they aren’t feeling and it’s never fun to watch so good for you for making that decision.

I didn't say she should continue to watch it. I just said that it takes 6 eps to become good. Tbh when it aired I also wanted to drop it but i couldn't find another anime to replace it, so i continue to watch it and it ended in my top 3 that season. Every person is different, every one can decide for themselves how many eps should give an anime before dropping. I have anime I dropped after 1 ep, 3 eps or even 50 eps 😅

Both shows are great, but I just prefer Dangers because the MC ends up being a sweet guy and going through a lot if you read the recent manga chapters. The anime staff also did an incredible adaptation for the first season.

Oof... unfortunate that you're dropping Dangers In My Heart. Personally, I don't think it's really a matter of age since I'm in my mid 30's and I still enjoyed the show thoroughly. You get past the whole "being in middle school" thing and just see where the romance goes, it's not as bad as others are making it out to be, especially since there isn't any gratuitous fan service that'll most likely turn a lot of people away from the show. That being said, I respect your decision in dropping it. It was probably one of the biggest romance shows this year... yet it still won't be for everybody.

I saw this coming, the beginning of the show is very hard to get through and even later episodes have a lot of humor or situations that just won’t appeal to everyone so it’s unfortunate but no use sitting through a show you aren’t enjoying and this way you can move on to another show you will hopefully enjoy more!

My only thing is people saying it has to do with the age of the Characters or that's male focused, so why was Dress up Darling okay? Yeah honestly the only shows I've stuck with after a so-so start and felt it paid off were maybe Planetes and defini True Detective season 1. Most other shows I'd drop after 4th episode if I wasn't feeling them.

Well I think judging by how that poll went it was inevitable that vinlad saga was gonna be up sooner or later, it's a good show just not really interesting as a reaction for me so it's 3 months and done and finally all three channels that I watch are gonna be done with it for a while. If you don't like a show after 4 episode it's not worth it even if other tell you it's gonna get good in X episode, definitely not with a show that has 13 ep so good decision, here's hoping for a great shows in the next polls
