Comments

as one of the first rom coms I ventured into this holds a special place in my heart and Ami will forever be one my fav written characters in anime so well done

Kurumi

I love the ending. They could have run off and ruined their lives to be together, but instead Taiga left to fix her own life and they finished high school so they could be together properly. It spoke to a level of maturity that a lot of people don't have. Their relationship wasn't something that could fail by being apart for a year or two.

@Biohazard No worries. I enjoy hanging around content creators' Patreons since it's mostly a "safe space" away from the toxicity of the internet. We don't all have to butter up the creators, or always say everything positive all the time. But the way we convey those opinions needs to be done properly.

statixFEAR

Ok just reading this and this is so funny. Might be necessary? How lmao. She’s doing fine in what way is what you’re doing necessary. Get a grip

shinomiya

Toradora was such an emotional rollercoaster for me. I cried at the same parts I cried the first time though. This anime is a classic best romance drama anime ever made.

@statixFEAR: I get what you're saying. In hindsight my criticism in this case might have been a litte too personal to let it out in the comments section. Using a DM would probably have been the better way to do it. I might have underestimated the consequences and would like to apologize for that. I'm sincerely sorry, @Alana

Biohazard

I've personally been on other creator's Patreons and if I have an opinion I need to voice out about the creator, specific to their mannerisms, appearance, etc, I would just send them a DM. "Constructive criticism" should be things relevant to the content you're consuming such as issues with the reaction itself, the format, the lighting, mic issues, etc. If you somehow feel the need to point out the creator's appearance, or how they talk or the way they talk, then that shouldn't be put out here in the comments section... because people will just see that as hate posting. We're not saying all comments have to be positive. But there's always a right time, right place, and right way to voice your opinions. We have to remember that content creators are people too... and we tend to forget that fact and just justify it as "I'm just stating my opinion". Also, let's not bring up labelling someone a "snowflake" or not... because how would you know if she is or isn't hurt by your statements? Should we all just tell her to man up and get over it? This is precisely why I sometimes feel that, for all the good the internet has done for society, there's an equal portion of negativity. Your intentions may not have been negative, but who's to say others won't take it negatively?

statixFEAR

@Ellis: My comment might be odd in your eyes but it also might be necessary. I'm clearly not the only person who noticed it. Besides that, this is my personal opinion which this comments section is exactly for I believe. If you think it's rude or not constructive or even unnecessary, be my guest. You don't have to like what I'm saying but I'm still gonna say it. I obviously do like Alana and her content a lot. That's why I'm supporting her here on patreon but IMO feedback shouldn't be exclusively positive. That would be dishonest. I'm sure Alana is not a snowflake and can take a litte criticism.

Biohazard

Love you, Alana!

Wandrr

thank you for watching!!

There's also an ova

What an incredibly odd comment lol. Taking something you find subjectively weird to you and labeling it as “constructive criticism” all while sporting a subtle condescending tone with your rhetoric? English may not be your first language so you may not have noticed this yourself but regardless of the subject matter or how much you try to add disclaimers, there’s a way to say things without coming off the way you do. Having many German friends that have a sense of tact, playing it off as “being direct” doesn’t quite cut it either. Now, bringing the subject matter to mind, I don’t find Alana’s pronunciation tone or vocal fry to be bad in the slightest. She’s being herself and providing content in the way that she always has, and I don’t know how you can take something you subjectively perceived as weird on your end and comment the way you did, when countless others have enjoyed her content until now without observing this. Really puts “unnecessary” into perspective. While you’re free to think the way you do, how you come off or how you choose your words go a long way, especially when you clearly seem to be in the minority. Saying “just be yourself” when you don’t know anything about her is just baffling. In your entitled “take it or leave it” argument, this is definitely a “leave it.” Alana, please keep doing you! Love your content and the way you present it, and was super happy to see you react to one of my favorite shows! Keep on being rad!

Ellis

honestly i had only watched this once before and after watching it again along side you reminds me how great it was! Thank you and can't wait for more series

Djklaxo

Lmfao at first I thought you were a schizo hater but than I watched the video and yeah she does actually sound a lot like that🤣 unfortunately its just common place now for women to talk like this, my mom has even started doing it when she never did 10-15 years ago…

Jasmine Tea Enjoyer

Just binged all of the reactions, man, what a series. Thanks for the great content!

Jordan Nguyen

I left a comment on the episode before but yeah I have a lot of mixed feelings about the ending of this show. It seems like they had the characters make a lot of decisions that weren’t true to the development they had built up over the show but that’s a personal opinion. It wasn’t enough to ruin the show for me I still love to rewatch it but it keeps it from getting higher rankings that I would have given it earlier in the season. (I’m aware its not completely biased because I’m a sucker for a redemption arc love story and would have liked to see him end up with Ami)

Jared Williams

Honestly, same! The very first time I watched this when it aired, I didn't understand what the point of the ending was. Then having been through my own experiences with a relationship that sadly failed, only then did I realize the nuances of this series. Truly one of the very few shows that I still rewatch every now and then,

statixFEAR

There’s a pretty funny ova

Chibi

Thank you

Budoy

Exactly, it’s not a great anime ending, but it was needed for them as characters.

James Peter Perrone Jefferies

@statixFEAR: No worries. This is not the normal kind of comment on her patreon. If you don't think my criticism is constructive be my guest. I'm not looking for agreement. It's just what I perceive. "Take it or leave it" also applies to you. I mean no harm.

Biohazard

@James Peter Perrone Jefferies: Hey man. I'm gonna visit the Netherlands in september. I hope you are prepared ;) Wish you all the best

Biohazard

The ending is pretty much universally disliked but it makes sense. Taiga left because she wanted to truly get her Mom’s permission to be with Ryuuji. Ryuuji made up with his mom, so Taiga didn’t want to be the only one to get left behind. On my first watch, I didn’t like the ending at all. Now I don’t really mind it as much on any subsequent watches.

SWAGxMAGICIAN

Oof... I'm reading all this and there's nothing "constructive" about it. You might want to reread the definition of "constructive criticism", chief. And that "take it or leave it" just reeks of entitlement. I'm relatively new on Alana's Patreon but damn... even I didn't expect these comments on my first few days here... lol

statixFEAR

Hey neighbour, Dutch here.

James Peter Perrone Jefferies

Well I'm german. I'm direct AF. You don't have to like it.

Biohazard

I low key have to agree with you a bit. But not enough to comment about it.

James Peter Perrone Jefferies

@Alana Misako: It might seem like that but the fact you call it 'vocal fry' makes it simply unnatural. That's what I'm trying to say. It's just unecessary. I'm not saying it's 'bad' but it might lock you in for a certain group of audience even though you could reach even more people with your nice character. I'm not trying to offend you. I think it's just constructive criticism. Take it or leave it.

Biohazard

ngl this is an insane comment LOL i don't think my vocal fry is bad at all but even if it was it's really wouldn't be my problem to fix it

Alana Misako

Just to be clear. I'm not talking about her attitude. She's a sweetie. I'm talking about her pronunciation. It's just weird.

Biohazard

@TheCeoOfAnime: Watch the video I linked. Maybe you'll get it.

Biohazard

@Lawlach: Yeah. No.

Biohazard

Bruh delete this tf lmao

Lawlach

personally have no clue what you on about

TheCeoOfAnime

Alana. I really like your content but I have one thing on my mind. Why do you talk so weirdly sassy? You may not recognize it but sometimes it makes you sound a bit immature. Please don't take this as hate or anything like that but sometimes it's a bit annoying. If you don't know what I'm talking about watch this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDfJn1kcQuU. Just be yourself.

Biohazard

All I can say about the ending is that Taiga made the right decision.
