i finished both toradora AND lycoris recoil today, so now i am looking for two new shows to watch!
i honestly don't know what vibe of show i'm feeling for our next series, but i'll be picking a show myself and then making a poll for the other one! i'm hoping to watch a shorter show for the T/Th slot and longer show for M/W/Fr :)

It is an amazing piece of art, everything from story telling/narration, plot, character development and design, animation, music, VA, everything! Missing it would be a pity and a shame. If you liked violet evergarden, you will like 86 too!

2023-07-20 03:24:10 +0000 UTCSkip and Loafer from last season was excelllent. its hard to sell it without sounding bland.... but its a lighthearted slice of life about a country girl moving to tokyo to go to high school and some light drama and romance ensue as she makes friends with her classmates. but the characters are all so well written and endearing and the show has such a good chill vibe with just enough believable drama to keep it engaging that it was probably my favorite of last season.

But titling it as a “slice of life” is putting its heavy themes quite lightly. It’s a life anime that will slice your life. Never quite an anime that emotionally impacted me enough to actually write about it for a college paper. Coming close were other Kyoto Animation works like Violet Evergarden and A Silent Voice that you watched.

If you want something light-hearted and sweet Kobayashi's Dragon Maid has 2 seasons and is very entertaining. If you want modern fantasy with rich lore and incredible animation by Ufotable (the studio that made Demon Slayer) I recommend Fate/Zero, then Fate/Stay Night UBW, then the Heaven's Feel movie trilogy.

It’s an older one but a classic. It’s an action, comedy, supernatural drama. The entire story is resolved in 13 episodes, so it'll be quick. If you're feeling action/comedy, there's an anime made by the same author as Mob Psycho called One Punch Man. Season 1 is renown for having some of the best animation quality. However season 2 was made by a different studio so there was a drop in animation quality. Season 3 is currently in production

Thriller/ Mystery, I would pick Erased; its about the MC trying to find a killer that’s connected to his past. Fantasy/psychological, Re:Zero; The MC wakes up in another world and has to deal with his new power that is OP but is really taxing on his psyche. Slice of Life/Comedy/ with a little bit of tragedy, Kakushigoto; it’s about a single father raising his daughter while hiding his embarrassing profession. There’s still so much I would recommend, but I leave it at that

For an older show, Hyouka is also a very relaxed "casual mystery" show with some gorgeous visuals and really fun imagery to explain the puzzles it presents the main characters with!

Unless you know your Japanese Russian accent from your Japanese Irish accent, I'd definitely go English dub on this one. Great recommendation!

You've got two seasons, a movie, a separate movie Liz and the Blue Bird which is like 10/10 goated, there's a new OVA coming out later this year and season 3 starting next year. Good time to get on board. If you like the best girlies energy of Lycoris Recoil it has that, AND Chisato's voice actress plays one of the main characters!

It's one of the most underrated animes out there that doesn't get enough love so if you're looking to branch out of romantic (though it does have it too lol) animes I'd recommend this one. Prohibition Era 1920s, mafias, alchemy, immortals, and a character named Jaccuzi Splot. Oh and it's only 16 episodes long too.

Long one is kind of tough to think of but maybe Bungo Stray Dogs if you haven’t watched it? Multiple 12-13 episode seasons with a good combination of action and comedy as well as somber topics. There’s also 86 with a 24 episode season.

A lot of people dropped it before the 3rd episode because of the MC and his weird edginess but an entire plot point of the show is his growth as a person aside from the Rom/Com stuff. Promise if you stick it out you'll really like it, it's a very good comfort manga/anime.

Ouran highschool host club is amazing in both english and japanese. BECK is one of the greatest music animes about a rock/punk band(like rage aganst the machine music) its great in both english and japanese but i prefer the english version of the songs still listen to them to this day actually got me to buy my own bass guitar and learn to play.

I really try to recommend shows that the reactor themselves would like. I think 86 is a great show and will prolly win the vote which is great! As far as you picking finding a show that you would love, Skip and Loafer is the best choice. Loving Yamada is cute and Dangers in My Heart is a good time, but Skip has vibes and messages and moments you would adore and it's written by a female author too! The manga is my fav manga of all time and I feel like more people should react to it <3

It's a strong yet accessible entry into the world of Gundam, a series so iconic they make life-size Gundam statues in Japan. Totally standalone story so absolutely no prior Gundam knowledge needed!

It's a chill, fun show that will absolutely make you want to go camping. In the winter. If you want a rom-com, Insomniacs After School was really good this past season. Also Skip and Loafer.

2023-07-18 23:01:44 +0000 UTCI'm new to your patreon and I love your reactions, especially for Toradora, keep up the great work! :) I would highly recommend "The Dangers in My Heart". It has become my favorite anime romcom of all time along with Toradora. It's wholesome, very well written and both main characters are very interesting and unique. The premise sounds questionable and the first two episodes are a bit weird (even though I already like them a lot), but from episode 3 on it gets amazing and continuously better, almost everyone who didn't drop the series after the first two episodes agrees. In many anime lists it has a top ranking for Spring 2023 anime, a second season is coming out early next year and the music was done by the person who did the music for the movie "Silent Voice". Also, it seems to be doing pretty well in terms of views. It's up to you to decide what to watch next, of course, but I'd love for you to at least consider it.
