I was also grinning throughout this episode. It warms me to my core watching Miyamura grow as well as all of them develop their friendships and relationships. I read the entirety of the manga this past week because I wanted the contextual timeline and I'm glad I did. The artwork between chapters as well as the commentary from the author was so precious. I loved all of it.

"Yeah, and with so much enthusiasm. Don't the grown-ups see it's Hitler Youth?" Hori's highly unenthusiastic "Blue Pledge" is a parody of that (whether that's the anime's intended effect or not).
