Aqua's romantic interest in Kana is so dang subtle. He says to himself "I didn't even lie" after recruiting Kana to the agency - by calling her more cute than most idols and someone he could trust. Then, in order to decide whether he's feelings for Akane are romantic in nature, he compares them to what he's feeling when he's with Kana. It's all tiny moments and lines that are far from the typical romantic moments and lines, but it's there, with more on the way. Never stated outright, but repeatedly implied.

2023-06-12 02:50:33 +0000 UTCI think the other thing with Ruby is that she never wanted to hold onto her past life. Right from the start, when they were babies, she sort of threw herself into this new life and left the other one behind. There's lots of little tells for that in the writing, like the way that she's always called Ai "mom" while Aqua has always referred to her as "Ai." It seems like Aqua is kind of leaving his old life behind now, too, which isn't really surprising, given how long he's now been living this new life. Eventually his previous life must start to feel less real and more like a dream that he had.

2023-06-07 22:29:34 +0000 UTCKana is like the "light" in Aqua's life. She keeps him grounded. I love all the main cast but Kana and Mem are my favs. A fun fact, Mem is a vtuber on Oshi No Ko's youtube channel, you can see her shorts there lmao aaand also they release an official Pieyon dance video with Ruby's VA

2023-06-07 22:29:32 +0000 UTCto add onto this, probably a big reason why we never really get these types of internal conflicts from Ruby's POV is because she's already surpassed her previous life. That, and everything is literally a new experience for her anyways now that she has a working body to explore the world with. I know Ruby's been on the sidelines for a few eps now but it's cool we can make answers about things without being told by the show directly and it'll still make sense~!

2023-06-07 22:23:29 +0000 UTCwhats interesting is he talks about the physiological impact on your thoughts. he may have memories that tell him to act one way, but hes still has a kids brain and hormones etc so he is going to act like a kid. i think what hes basically saying is hes realizing hes more or less a 16 year old kid who just happens to know things a ~30 year old would know. its very interesting.
