2023-06-02 09:12:20 +0000 UTCactually in light novel, the author create a shin version, that include the new character that will be the club new client.. but the request was rather light so no drama here.. but because of the request hachiman will make his move to invite yukino in a date, but sad to say it may never be animated oh well... here we go, waiting for toradora reaction videos

I was mad the whole 2nd half with how much of a homewrecker Yui was being and thinking she has a 'shot' with Hachiman even after everything he has done with the fake prom and how hard he worked for it to date Yukino. If you read the novels you know Yui never stood a chance since day 1 because how obsessed Hachiman is with Yukino and she with him. Literally long dialogues about Yukino by Hachiman. Iroha and Komachi also sucked by goating Yui into it and saying it's ok to steal Hachiman from Yukino. Hachiman was so out of of character by accepting the stupid date with Yui. This OVA should have focused on the relationship of HachiYuki but nope they gave the most to Yui because of their own selfish reasons not caring about the fans at all! I feel so bad for the author seeing his work become a harem anime what's ironically not genuine at all!

2023-05-19 22:02:36 +0000 UTCi haven't read Shin yet but i've read some of the summaries and it really seems mostly that Yui has just decided to openly express her feelings for Hachiman which is perfectly in line with being genuine but i skimmed through the OVA and, while the scene which hachiman and the yukinoshitas was really funny some of the Yui focused stuff left a bad taste in my mouth. Ironically, the one i feel like is most in the wrong though is Komachi since she should be firmly on Hachiman's side instead of the girls and she seems to side with yui in the OVA which seems off. As for Shin, a person whose opinion on Oregairu i respect (Predictabowl, who has actually been in the comments here) seems to think that Shin isn't actually as problematic as many make it out to be and they seem almost more obsessed with Oregairu than i am so i'm not to worried about it.

2023-05-19 21:36:32 +0000 UTCThe studio heavily favored Yui throughout both season 2 and 3, and they just made up the "date" and the whole thing with Yui in this ova. The Shin novel, even with all its flaws, was much more faithful to the story than this. Well, at least we got to see some of Hachiman and Yukino's dinner with her mom. That's something :/

The ending in Shin is great even if those novels were flawed, we should have gotten the dates between Hachiman and Yukino, but instead we got this made up scene with Yui...
