2023-01-18 03:01:44 +0000 UTCtrue but not entirely true. The word "Musume" 娘 (むすめ) can mean daughter yes. BUT. It can also mean "young girl" or "young lady" depending on the context. Japanese has a weird way of having double/triple meanings for words but it's also a language that HEAVILY focuses on the context of the conversation prior for follow-up statements.

I love how she also has social anxiety about a lot of stuff and has similar bocchi-style breakdowns, even though she's extroverted - some of the most socially anxious people I know are extroverted! Meanwhile, although ryo is introverted and nijika is extroverted, they're similar in that they don't have social anxiety. Side note, make sure not to skip the ED next episode! The show has 3 (technically 4) EDs and the second one starts in episode 4!

2023-01-17 16:37:05 +0000 UTCThere is something odd about Kita's phrasing about Ryo. Mostly the fact that when the subs say "I want to become her girl" she uses the word for daughter instead. Hence Bocchi wonders for her sanity.
