I really appreciated the discussion at the beginning. I think it's pretty inarguable that Denji was compromised, but on top of that, Himeno is his senior and should thus be more responsible; she's also his working superior; and while she is drunk, she's clearly experienced with drinking, whereas I think it's safe to say Denji does not have experience with vomit-induced dehydration and dizziness. There's almost no power dynamic she *doesn't* have on Denji. I think it's pretty obvious the scene is meant to be uncomfortable and about as far from "sexy" as possible. Even Denji's flashback memory of Makima seems more warm and friendly than both versions of Himeno's scene, but maybe that's confirmation bias talking. As for people shouting about the technicalities of Japan's age of consent laws, even if they *did* apply in the way they say they do, aren't they just doing the same thing as twenty-somethings who hang around high schools and go like "she was two hours into her 18th birthday! She was legal. Can't convict me!" lol oh, sorry guys. It's fiction. I forgot. :P
