This was certainly not how I expected to enter February.

So an update...

I've been doing battles with themes and plugins. I discovered that the theme I was hoping to switch us to had a great deal of conflicts with some of the plugin functionality we wanted to use... and after a bit of stomping of feet and grinding of teeth, I have reverted back to the theme we were using previously.

It has quirks too, make no mistake, but there is familiarity there, and ultimately I just want a good user experience.

Plug-in installation is running similarly. A lot of returning stuff just has to be installed, and reconfigured from scratch... and in doing this there are new challenges, but also ways to hopefully make the site more secure and stable. I am hoping that this will at the very least remove the randomized 404 errors we were getting on the previous iteration.

I have hit a wall trying to get any information from our previous hosting overlords. I fear that there non-communication is now just the reality.

So while there is a great deal of frustration there... Perhaps acceptance is coming.... *grumbles and mutters to self*

While waiting for various plugins and installations to process, I am playing with a new automation system... if you will excuse the nerd talk... this is something I was using to send automated responses when people failed 'edging posts' or in many cases to track achievements and what not...

This new system, may allow me to do something very VERY cool... I'm poking at it even as I type this and I hope to have something for all of you here in the next day or two that may be a very cool surprise indeed.

I do apologize again for all the chaos. I was so proud of myself for my January roadmap and had the content all setup and good to go and it feels like the universe just pointed and laughed at me a little. But again... perserverence. Getting the site back up on it's feet and getting the community back together is my priority one and then back to our regularly scheduled programming.
