I haven't done one of these highpoly renders in a while, so here's one, primarily to have this post as an update since I've been mostly quiet the past few days.
anyway, completed highpoly model for the final piece of the poll set. As I mentioned in previous posts, I was dreading making these, it is very time consuming, with a lot of stitching, belts and small details that need to be done.
I have pretty much modeled and detailed these fully with no "cheating" like not detailing under the main belt and so on and so forth. As such, these will be modular. The hanging belt will be removable, the main belt will be removable and also the hanging pockets will be removable, if you don't like that detail, so there will be quite a lot of possible equip variations to choose from.
in terms of the denim tears, I will be baking down existing details as a base, and then add some additional alpha cards on top to enhance detail level and create some depth. Some spots look slightly incomplete or lacking because of that. When dealing with this sort of detail in the past, I've done baked in tears, full alpha planes like my old revy jeans, full 3d tears in the android 18 set (that was ridiculous lol). This time I'll try for a hybrid approach and see how it goes to experiment and figure out the best approach.
end is in sight for these and the set as a whole, I'm planning to hopefully have them done by month's end.
