Return to Patreon and content creation, Let's give it a try one last time!

Hey there! how's it going? Hope ya'll doing fine.

I'm currently doing ok health wise and having a little more window of free time on my hands, that may cue for a return on doing content creation so let's see how it goes this time.

But this comes with a change on mindset after thinking about it a lot, this time I want to have a more healthy and natural approach on what I produce and its quality, not exhausting myself with impossible projects, perfecionism and ultimately get stuck doing stuff that doesn't bring joy to myself. Not to say that all of what I have already done doesn't make me happy but rather the stuff I forced myself to finish and/or ended up dropping along the way.

My goals

Primarly I want to focus on producing original content, with the hopes of making something bigger on the future. Drawings, comics and writing about my characters and their world. With a side of the silly stuff you have already seen from me.

- Further expand my characters and world backstory
- Make more animations
- Make more silly stuff (memes, comics, etc)
- And ultimately do what brings joy to me, and hopefully you too.

(All of the above comes with their own up and down sides. Drawings and comics not resulting as I expected/planned (quality wise), animation takes too long, storytelling need writing which is not my personal forte, etc. Which may result in delayed or prolonged times of posting)

Regarding Fanart

I'm not planning on doing more fanart polls. Those were fun at first but gradually  burned me out. At times I found myself drawing characters that  I didn't even knew/cared about (limiting the art piece to be mostly generic) and in other times I felt like I ended up drawing characters that not all of my Patreon audience really cared about.

That doesn't mean I won't do fanart anymore though, I may do fanart of characters/shows/games that I personally like or scenarios that I see fitting for my art. Also I'm open to the idea of doing commissioned fanart artwork. But overall the fanart content will be more scarse.

Patreon tiers changes

One important thing I need to adress... My patreon tier rewards are pretty outdated. I wrote them back in 2020-2021, a totally different moment of our lives you may guess. My time and mindset was much different back then but stuff got messier as time rolled out.

My intention is to still have Patreon for exclusive content and early access to my content, but my goal in the end is for people to see the stuff I produce, not to keep it all behind a paywall. Most NSFW stuff will still stay on Patreon (more because of personal principles) but I will release more stuff on my public twitter account too.

I plan on simplifing the tiers and not gatekeep content behind expensive tiers. The first tier would grant access to all my future Patreon posts and the higher tiers are just for those who want to further support my work monetarily.

Note: older content will remain in their original intended tiers.

PATREON BILLING WILL STILL BE ON PAUSE UNTIL JUNE 1ST, 2023. This is to give current patrons enough time to read about these changes and decide what they want to do.

In closing

I'm back and I want to return to content creation, focusing more in personal oc stuff and worldbuilding rather than a potpourri of stuff, but still doing the silly things you probably discovered my art for in the first place.

For me this is a 'square enix's final fantasy' esque situation where I try to bring my Patreon and twitter account up one last time, but I know that if in the end it doesn't work for me anymore or hinders my mental/physical health then I'll stop doing it for good, I'm saying this just to set people's expectations straight and not have to resolve this in a unheatlhy way on the future. Believe me I don't want it to happen either, but I'm just a mere guy after all.
