The original Star Trek has suddenly become very relevant lately because it was about how humans would start advanced space travel. Over the last few years, the United States military have admitted that UFO's, or UAP, are real and people from the U.S. military are coming forward with their accounts of UAP that they confirm are real. So, we are now living the beginning of the original Star Trek series in real life. Although the technical details of the original series will have flaws compared to what we are finding out in real life, the moral commentary about how humanity would handle advanced technology still holds true.

2023-08-08 06:07:56 +0000 UTCBTW, In case no one mentioned it, NBC rejected this first pilot because they said, it was too "cerebral." Pun fully intended. Something else to consider, this came out 3 years after the first Soviet cosmonaut orbited the earth...humans were barely getting into space.

I hope you'll be doing the cartoons from the '70s it was actually very good and captured the spirit of TOS exceptionally well. If you want to watch in order, you should pick up the movies after the cartoon series.

My dad was also a huge Trekkie. He's the reason I love Star Trek so much. I'm really glad that you liked the episode! It's quite a bit different than other episodes of TOS. This pilot was never aired on TV (except for much, much later after TOS was finished). There's a 2-part episode of TOS called The Menagerie which is basically a clip show of this episode, though it does have a plot of its own. Season 1 has so many great episodes. I think you're in for a good time.
