about "published": he says, the DVD was never distributed, which is very close to (not) published, i.e. nobody needed for a task which never happened (he chased this copy on his own); about "edit": a few days had been left between last day of recording and vanishing of cast; this created a raw, first cut of the movie - or isn't it "raw", but intentionally full of strange science or strong magic? BTW: about "magic": in the age of blue-ray-discs and streaming, a DVD is already an antiquated, magic-laden relict ... :-)
