On one hand, I recommend that such pupation potions give the person the urge to go to a safe place (e.g., lie down on a wide bed) and strike a suitable pose before the actual transformation begins, to avoid just such accidents ...; on the other hand: if Robert/a simply transforms silently on his bed, Maeve will have to wait months or years to realize where her potions have gone; but if Roberta, in her pain, can just open the apartment door before the transformation progresses too far ...
