(and then someone had to lift the heavy gold statue in its place ...!) or did she fly to her new and now permanent place? (which causes a lot of wind, not good for the furniture and the fire in the chimney ...) or was there some temporary, auxiliary staircase, which she climbed? I guess you had somethind different in mind, but the wager for each level of the game could be "climb the stairs up another step" and she raised the stakes again and again, but when she reached the top of the platform, her opponent no longer offered "double or nothing" (the time she has to pose for him/her), but demanded the final prize ...
