the AI project was part of Nexus that was left to manage the experiment and exterminate at right time. My theory doesn't contradict any of that, except Mael's intention behind the experiment. Maybe it wasn't Mael's intention, rather what Mael told his A.I. his intention was. So no, my theory doesn't contradict anything written so far.

The Terran AIs tried to kill them because they were all derived from Nexus.

Out of desperation. Mael knew eventually he would end up being a creature on the astral plane. If he did not come up with a plan he would have eventually died in a progenator war. It was only a matter of time as proven by his eventual death. It was also Rahn's plan as well to use John as a weapon to destroy the other pregenators. Great minds think alike.

So what are the bets on what the next chapter will contain? We are almost guaranteed a confrontation with the Brimorian's in Kintark space. But what about the other possibilities? Start of reunion with his parents? Meeting the new Matriarch's?

I have to disagree with you Anon Anonymous. Why would a progenitor every give his thralls free will or willing make someone more powerful than themselves. The are a bunch of control freaks and care nothing of their children or siblings. Hell I bet they don't even voluntarily reproduce other progenitors unless made too by Xar when the killing quotas start to fall. How many tens of thousands of years did it take for Mael to mellow out under the shroud? In the vids taken when he created the Ashanath, the Trankaran's and the Humans he was still being a complete DICK. It does not sound like something he would have done out of the goodness of his heart at the time. He was experimenting but we really don't know for what. We can surmise that the Ashanath were probably an experiment on the Astral Plane. You got to wonder why he would be doing that when most progenitors are terrified of that place. The Trankaran's were purely bred for resource gathering to build things as you can tell by his contempt in naming them. Humans are still some what of a mystery but they don't seem to worship Progenitors like the other created races and you are right about putting a quantum annihilator on the moon. So what was his purpose with that experiment. Also lets not forget the Lenarran's. We are not sure he created them at all but he had taken position of them at some point. Perhaps he didn't create Jade or her other "Special" Sisters but perhaps he did the others. John is proof that they can reproduce with a progenitor so I'm sure that Mael was able to also.

Mael created humans as "undifferentiated thrall race with no template" as an experiment , because he was bored, to see how the template would evolve with no programming, because he was bored, and to try out new generic techniques. And because he was bored. The AI system he left to monitor his experiment was nexus, and was left with zero interaction for several hundred thousand years whilst mael went off and fell in love with valeden... and went insane with hate for the biological experiment that surved no purpose...

Nah, the murderous AI were always due to Humans trying to play with or take apart and put back together systems that they didn't understand, and botching it up badly, creating a Frankenstein level of AI, that never worked quite right. But the AI system knew enough that it knew that the humans had screwed stuff up, or were trying to limit what the AI was able to do, and the AI were very pissed as a result.

Maybe Mael created terrans to experiment on FREE WILL. He first experienced free will when he fell in love with valaden and tried to explore it further. And left the quantum annihilator in moon just in case experiment goes badly Maybe his innitial plan was to left humans learn and develop, up until creation of AI, hence the murderous AI.

I don't think it is just a case of other Progenators "doing it wrong." I have a theory John's unique abilities are due to his Terran heritage. I think Mael actually created Terrans as an experiment to create a more powerful Terran/Prog hybrid. I think he was interrupted by Rahn attacking in the shroud systems he created to hide his experiment. He left the quantum annihilator in the moon as a fail safe in case another Progenator tried to take over his experiment by force. I think Mael wanted to destroy the contol over him and was working on that until the puppet masters sent Rahn to stop him.

Regardless to what she did or how she did it, John's experience with Jessica before Rahn was rescued was her sole focus of Rahn to the exclusion of all else. After her change by Alyssa, his only interaction with her was her begging for Rahn's life. He was never told nor has he seen that that is no longer the case.

Yeah, Rahn managed to discover that John genetically altered Alyssa into something she originally wasn’t, and furthermore found out that the rest of his girls were altered to possess psychic powers. The Astral visits are to try and comprehend how his son could genetically change anyone, much less give out powers like popcorn at a ballgame. His surprise and frustration is centered around the fact that not even the Kyth’faren figured out the exponential factor a positive psychic charge would have on an individual or their network of power. When he finds out that the Progenitor’s have been doing it wrong for untold eons...that will be some epic fallout.

What I want to see is Johns dads reaction too John creating a female Progenitor. Since the way race propagates and rules is entirely androcentrism (male centered society).

I think she released her personality and then altered the bond to be like hers like she has with John.

1) Yep! 2) It was a rushed wedding and they were only waiting for the bride for a couple of minutes, so there wouldn't have been time for lengthy introductions. Also, while the Maliri twins are striking, there's also Helene, Jade, Marika, Leylira, Betrixa, and Neysa who are all exotically alien in skin tone if not physical appearance.

A couple of clarifying comments/questions regarding Arrowglass' previous question about Henry meeting all the girls and the"ten sets of eyes" and "four feline pairs".: 1 - About the eyes - the 10 sets referred to the girls (leaving out Jade's sisters), but that didn't imply that all 10 sets were "human" type of eyes, since Jade would also have feline type eyes now in her new form, correct? 2 - I think the main point/question that Arowglass was trying to make was that I think this was the first time that Henry, much less Abigail, met all of the girls, yet the "new" girls, the ones he hadn't met yet, were not identified by species, including the Maliri twins, so did Henry finally find out who they were or was this just a "glossed over" introduction as simply Rachel's friends and teammates? Admittedly, Abigail had just been miraculously healed, the focus of the event was the wedding, and John and company needed to rush off, after all. LOL

I wonder if Alyssa would have owned up to John about making changes to Jessica's personality either after they left Arcadia or when he got the message she was calling after the wedding, if his response would have been different?

Factions cant expanded easily into the Kintark Empire at this time. The Maliri have had chronic birth rates for generations and as such have no need to expand or maintain extra territory. The Terrans have the don't have the ships to conquer do to the recent loses in the war, not to mention areas of the outer boarder are nearing a point of open insurrection.

Alan, what you quoted above was spoken as a request by Tamolith, and John never agreed to that request, but did say he "would consider the slate wiped clean." In fact, that was regarding "future encroachments into the Kintark Empire" specifically by the Terran Federation, which Lynette essentially agreed not to do.. John responded that “Only the Fleet Admiral can speak for the Terran Federation, but I can promise you that the Maliri will respect your existing boundaries.” So since at the present time in the story neither the Terrans, nor the Maliri, nor John are currently invading the Kintark Empire, but instead are trying to help them against the Brimorians, I'm not sure what the point is that you are trying to make.

One thing sticks out when I was re-reading Ch. 131 and that is just prior to the wedding Henry gets introduced to ALL the girls...all 14 it appears since there 10 sets of eyes and 4 sets of cat like. That would include the Maliri twins, so did he finally find out who they were or was it a "glossed over" introduction?
