You play as Jack (or a name of your choosing), a widower who lives with his adopted teenage daughter during the aftermath of a global pandemic. As the fabric of society deteriorates, he must make hard decisions to ensure their survival.
Carol Brooks is Jack’s adopted teenage daughter. In the five years since she moved in with him, she’s grown incredibly close to him, so much so that she may love him a little more than she should.
Carol is a young teenage girl, fearful of being trapped in the foster care system and worried that she’s too old for most families who want to adopt.
Missy Gladney is a social worker for the county’s foster care division and Carol’s caseworker.
Lori Brooks, Jack’s recently-deceased wife, is a high school English teacher who passed away from pancreatic cancer.
Julie Ross, a high school History teacher, is one of Lori’s dearest friends. Her friendship with Missy leads her to learn about Carol’s situation.
