It was said never to look someone in the eye while wandering through this place at late hours, unless you were prepared for a conflict that you'd be certain to lose. Within the tall shadows of the alleys lurked a gamut of unsavory doorways and even less unsavory individuals. Outsiders knew to stay away. An unspoken, but explicit rule.
