December traditions!

Being as many of you are decorating the radio tower, it seems you're already in the festive mood for the holidays! What are some heartwarming memories or traditions that you have to celebrate this time of the year?

For me, I love the cooking! There's nothing better than working around a hot oven while there's a chill in the air. From desserts to savory items, this is the time for me to put my culinary skills to the test! If I'm feeling extra generous, I'll prepare tins of homemade fudge or cookies for neighbors!

There! I shared a story! Quid pro quo!

My grandad, rest in peace, was originally from Germany, but he had this odd tradition. You know how most families left milk and cookies for Santa, well... He always told us that Santa might be tired of the same treats, so he told us to leave out a bratwurst and a glass of beer. XD

This sounds so lovely! Are you going to share pictures in the chat? I'd love to see it!

Hmmm...I hope it will fit... If anyone can make that happen, it is our favorite radio deer. Eleven inches indeed--try eleven feet, sir! ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿคฃ Ahem... Decorating for the winter festivities has always been one of my favorite activities. I remember being a little one and crawling under and behind the big Christmas tree with my sister so we could lay on our backs in the narrow space and look up through the brightly lit, colorful branches at the multitude of ornaments hanging from every branch like glittering fruit. In the years since, I have decorated many Christmas trees for friends and family and friends' family, including one with a deer skull and antlers as the topper (!), and even one for a business's front window display. But my favorite is my own little tabletop tree, barely two feet high. My dad surprised my sister and I with the little trees one year when we were kids, glowing warmly from the top of our dressers. Since then my sister and I have made many mini ornaments for our trees. I enjoy taking out each ornament and recalling the memories and stories behind them. My tiny tree may not be grand or picturesque like those in a shop window, but to me it is the most beautiful, recalling the big tree from my childhood: sparkling memories like strange fruit on every branch. โœจ๏ธ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿฅน
