Darlings, I got a fantastic book at the emporium that includes recipes from haunted locations in the US!
This first recipe is the legendary Croissant Bread Pudding from the Myrtles Bed and Breakfast in Saint Francisville, Louisiana. Reports indicate that the ghost of a woman wearing a green bonnet roams the halls at night. Some rooms are so haunted that they're forbidden from public view!
Croissant bread pudding
10 (1 day-old) croissants
2 1/4 cup cream
3/4 cup milk
1 1/4 sugar
8 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup melted butter
1. Spray a casserole baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. Tear up the croissants into
bite-sized pieces and place them evenly in the pan.
2. Mix together cream, milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and salt in a medium bowl.
3. Pour this liquid over the torn croissant pieces in the pan.
4. Pour the melted butter evenly over the croissants.
5. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for two hours.
6. Remove the plastic wrap after two hours.
7. Bake at 325F/163C for 45 minutes, or until the custard is set. Cool slightly before serving.
