Hello, darlings! And Happy Birthday, Faolan! This is another lovely commission requested by Faolan/Fukkyu Bisch as another installment in the Vixy saga, titled "Respite".

In this story, we see Alastor and Vixy while they were alive (Alastor speaks without a radio filter and the Transatlantic accent). During the middle of the night in the wilds of Louisiana, Vixy (that's a pet name like "Dear" or "cher" to allow self-insert) hears a frantic pounding on her door. She opens it to see an injured Alastor; he insists he was robbed and requires immediate help. She lets him inside and they treat his injury. It's then that Alastor recognizes her as his childhood friend. Throughout the ensuing conversation, Vixy begins noticing flaws in his assertion that he was robbed....

Warning: while this is SFW, it contains mild language (yes, people did swear back in the 1920s), mention of violence, gore, abuse, and bullying. Viewer discretion is advised.

US history time! (I promise, it'll be interesting). From 1920 to 1933, the US government prohibited production, importation, transportation, the sale of, and consumption of alcohol throughout the entire US. This was due to the erroneous belief that alcohol was destroying the moral fabric of the country. During this time, many people made their own alcohol through bootlegging, or ran speakeasies where people could drink in secret clubs. Naturally, the elite did not have to abide by these laws as strictly as the masses. Bribes to imbibe were plentiful during that time, as long as someone had wealth.

In my head canon, Alastor's last name is "Bellivue". It's a prestigious surname in Louisiana, and I imagine his father was a member of the elite. For Alastor to even attend college back then to learn the Transatlantic accent meant he had to come from wealth. Remember, the accent was associated with aristocracy and its purpose (aside from being an entertainer's accent) was to flaunt one's status.
