Second best birthday present in years (sorrynotsorry, my kid's present to me this year was first!) just a couple days before my birthday. I love how your work shows such a love for the source material in addition to all the actual work you put into them. Not going to put spoilers for those who only watch the show, but the more I re-read it the more evident it becomes this is a guy with a lot of internalized pain to match his showing scars. This was masterful, truly, and while I enjoy some feral stuff I really enjoy it more when the voice drops a register and is more controlled instead of getting louder (i.e. Dabi, Shinso, Aizawa). Don't get me wrong, I love my Hawks and how vocal he is, (variety is needed!) but it was my kid who pointed out my headphones leak too much sound (she's 18+, she was just mortified). And low voices just get me. This was so nicely balanced with sultry, romantic, feral, and loving that it immediately became a go-to for me, and it's lovely to go to sleep to and to wake up to. It's a solid on my playlist.
