Cultivators exhibit very high levels of spiritual power and form their "golden cores" when they're still children. The golden core is basically what gives every cultivator their "superpowers". Losing it is probably the most painful (physically and emotionally) thing a cultivator can go through. That's what happened to Jiang Cheng, and now, he is just an ordinary person and can never practice cultivation again. So yeah, things are looking terrible rn.... on the other hand tho, that cape outfit Wei Wuxian was wearing for most of the episode SLAPS. yeah, he's fighting for his and his siblings' life rn, but damn, he be looking cunty while doing it 💅
