Above is a small animation I did for Black Door (in low resolution) that showcases a bit of everything I've been learning in the last few days and the direction I'm heading in.
This animation was made in Blender instead of Daz, the software I've been using for my CGs since the beginning. The biggest reason for moving to Blender is the speed at which I can render images and create animations. It's just the logical next step for my work.
In the last 10 days or so, I've been learning about Blender, hair cards, cloth physics, and many new tools I'm not accustomed to working with. While it is amazing to explore all these new tools, I kept one thing in mind: I've seen too many developers get lost in learning all this and never really progress with their games. So I decided to speed-learn as much as I could and not aim for perfection, just to be good enough. Soon, the quality of my animations and renders will improve as I continue developing my games.
What this all means is that I'm back to developing Black Door and using it as a platform to practice some new techniques, especially in animation. This won't be a big game (as planned from the start), with only 3 more updates before its final version.

Oh thank God! Blender is sooo much better. Daz was a great start, but I always wondered why people stuck with it. Everyone looks like mannequins and the clothing looks painted on... As much as I will miss LS, I cannot wait to see your next project.
