Reflect

These past few days I've had (in my spare time) to reflect on my wrestling career. This may be brought on by some of the horrendous things I've seen about me as of late. People are very angry with me for my pronouns, wrestling in the women's division, and looking the way that I do. I wanted to share with you why I keep "Living Dead Girl" as apart of my persona.

First and foremost, it was something that I wanted when I first started wrestling. This "gimmick" has been mine since day one, I don't want to change something that I've had and have babied my whole career. It's been chanted at indie shows, as well as AEW.

Secondly, I choose to keep this because of Rob Zombie. I feel like that would be obvious as everyone and their mother knows at least 2 of his songs and this is one of em. I really enjoy paying homage and respect to one of my favorite musical artists who influenced me as a child. Also, Adam Copeland used "Never Gonna Stop Me" and that was the coolest thing to me as a kid. (He was/is) still one of my favorites to this day so there IS meaning behind it.

Thirdly, Living Dead Them, Living Dead Enby, just doesn't flow as nicely. It just doesn't and that's completely okay!

Thank you to those who genuinely do their best to respect my wishes on my pronouns. It means a lot. Thank you everyone!

As a fellow they/them enby, I have a lot of respect for you keeping the Living Dead Girl moniker. Sadly, it's going to be used by the wrong people as their attempt at a "gotcha" for invalidating your gender identity, but your gender is YOURS and YOURS ALONE to define. If people don't understand it, it is their responsibility to get better and try and learn. Your gender presentation & aesthetic have been a huge inspiration. Please keep being you 🖤

So, Adam is the reason I became a Rob Zombie fan, I remember that album came out while I was in 8th grade, and I listened to it so much that I destroyed the disc. (thankfully with Spotify, I don't have to worry about that lol) I admit that when it comes to pronouns, sometimes I slip and say the wrong ones and I apologize for it because I would never maliciously use the wrong ones. I've told some of my friends that use they/them to please not be offended if I slip. I like people for who they are, regardless of pronouns and I've always believed if you're not hurting anyone and it makes you happy then you should do what makes you happy. You're an awesome person and I love Abadon and I'm so excited to see where this goes with Julia.

NeganMOX

Yeah I don't know why the US cares so much, like...it's honestly bizarre to me

Abadon

It's weird, personally, I don't understand using different pronouns, but I respect and care for people and I will always do my best to use the pronouns someone prefers. Sometimes I accidentally use incorrect pronouns and I will immediately apologize. My point being is you don't have to understand something to be respectful about something that's important to others.

Jamie Bertrand

We respect and love you lots ❤️💚 always keep being you ❤️

Sam

People who get angry over something like that are gonna find a reason to be angry no matter what anyway! Abadon is the most creative wrestling persona I’ve seen in decades. I love it and admire you as the creator.

Steve Fallon

All of your loyal fans respect you and stand behind the living dead girl.

Adam Mapes

i respect you Abadon

Darrell Wayne Harlan Jr

You’re our Living Dead Girl and your pronouns are just as important! Never stop being you, there’s a whole lot of us who would stand up for you and never back down. Proud of everything you’ve ever worked for and the incredible matches you always have. Keep your head up!

Michael Murray

My opinion is this. Do what make your life better. I honestly respect anyone that make a choice to live for themselves and not the idea that the world wants them to be. I'm a huge fan of you as Abadon. But here they have given a look into their life. ( I still don't know if I'm using pronouns right. My languages are English and sarcasm.) What I respect is that you are not cruel when it comes to using pronouns. I will always be a Living Dead Girl fan and look forward to screaming at the top of my lungs when one day you win the AEW Woman's title. Keep killing it!!

You don’t have to fit in anyone’s box. People can be confused, and that’s OK, as long as they aren’t rude. You can be non-binary and still be the Living Dead Girl. Great artists like David Bowie have played with gender. If it makes folks uncomfortable, that says more about them.

Kyle

You can't change them but know you have people willing not only to have your back but push you as a positive light as someone non binary out here doing big things and changing the perception of what that can be. 🧟💚

RedCyclone

for a lot of people being offended is there full time job. personaly i dnt understand the whole pronouns thing its not a thing here in my country (Belgium) gay marriage has bin legal sins 1990 we have a transwoman in our goverment nobody realy cares like in the US

scorpius drall

People on Reddit *lose their fucking minds* at the idea of you being non-binary and using the gimmick "Living Dead Girl". It's pathetic that they react this way, they don't do that with Max the Impaler. Tell *your* stories and live *your* truth.

Jason Siedzik

Be who you are. At the end of the day nobody but you is paying your bills so they get no say in your choices. I appreciate that you and humans like you are an example to my children (boy and girls) that’s it’s perfectly ok to be who you are.

Timothy Abney

You're a wonderful person, and I'm proud of the pogress you've made, as a person and as the character we see on AEW, and other feds that you perform at. You're allowed to use the "Living Dead Girl" nickname, but still ask to be referred to by they/them. While what we see IS a part of who you are- its only a small part, I'm sure. and regardless of nicknames, it costs people nothing to be respectful of how you want to be described. I know its hard to ignore the haters, because despite how much someone doesn't want to let it get to them, it can. Keep being you, keep being strong, you're amazing.

Chris conney

You are awesome exactly as you are and you light up the screen every time I get to watch you in the ring

Owen Stupka

Anyone with an issue with your pronouns is their problem. Imagine harassing someone because they use a pronoun. Those people can get fucked.

Brian Krasman

I've yet to see a single person whining about you using they/them who had complaints in actual good faith. I've yet to see a single person whining about your presentation who wasn't aggressively boring in their tastes for what wrestling is altogether. If anything, I've just wanted somebody to actually license Demonoid Phenomenon for your entrance theme, but that's such a Rob Zombie nerd nitpick. You're fucking awesome, and I assure you, the circles of smart marks I've chosen to check in on are overjoyed you're getting a proper push. Do your thing, Abby.

Justin Clark

I always get so frustrated when I see people make those kind of comments about you. I do my best to correct them. Seeing a nonbinary and alternative person doing cool things in wrestling really makes me feel so happy, as a fellow nonbinary and alternative person. I’m just really sorry you have to deal with this shit. 💚

A

Fuck the haters, I hope you keep going and staying true to your artistry. I cant imagine what life under the scrutiny of complete strangers must be like.

Patrick Moore

And we love you the way you are. You’re awesome in every way possible. You could be The Living Dead Individual for all I care, as long as you stay true to yourself.

Daniel McCarthy

Some people just plain suck and it’s sad. You are living your truth and your life never change who you are Abadon you inspire so many to be themselves and love life. We love you and will defend you always. You are beautiful strong and loved and some people can’t handle that it’s truly there loss. They will never get to know the amazing person you are 🫶🏻🫶🏻

Jonathan dobrick

You do what you what abado. You do what makes you comfortable and happy

April Hedlund

People who get up in arms over the "sanctity" of gendered divisions in professional wrestling are 100% not worth your bandwidth. Just happy to see you back.

Quentin Acord

Love you no matter what you call yourself. You’re a very kind and sweet person. You’ve been a favorite since I first saw you in AEW.
