Added 2023-11-06 18:00:05 +0000 UTCSo, you guys, while I was in Vegas I learned that Vegas (mostly hotels, shops and the people) really dislike gothic people and sheer clothing. I was kicked out of a few stores, and was rejected from a few restaurants. The Casino also wouldn't let me wear my typical goth make up and forced me and my photographer to delete our casino photoshoot we had started doing. I'm really bummed about it but I do have a hotel photoshoot we were able to do without being yelled at. It was honestly the strangest thing as I figured Vegas was pretty accepting of almost anything. While I'm editing those pictures, I hope yall continue to enjoy the Lydia Deetz shoot and the currently releasing "RED" shoot.
I appreciate everyone's patience from last week. I wanted to focus on my husband and friends who joined me for my very small and intimate wedding.

I'm still a bit bitter even 8 years and a divorce later because there's a more professional way of telling someone they can't take "professional" photos on their premises than "Delete that photo and all others you have taken here at our resort and then please exit the premises." Took 2 hours of pleading with management to get them to calm the hell down. Even had to take them to our room to prove we were guests as they were ready to call the cops and have us trespassed. Overreact much? Last time I'll stay at Aria or any other MLive-owned resort.

Still ridiculous that I paid over $1800 for 3 nights and was treated like a criminal when I took pictures of my now ex-wife using a Nikon D3300 DSLR with a 200mm lens. Hardly the professional rig they were claiming it was. Sorry, not everyone wants to capture moments of their 10th anniversary on an LG G3 phone

But this corpo-Disneyfied aggressively family-friendly Vegas won't stand for such shenanigans as *GASP* dressing unconventionally. And definitely don't be taking professional-esque photos on their premises either (if you have a DSLR, better keep that shit hidden in its case as they will ask you to leave if they see it, even if you're a guest of the hotel).
