Big Bend National Park

Not only was this one of the COOLEST lodging places I've ever stayed at, but it was also the darkest place I've been to. The stars looked SO amazing, I've never seen so many before. It was also super freaking sweet to see the Nebula clouds (which again I've never seen). The only downside was it was 105° and we did a 6 mile hike....im surprisingly not as sunburned as I thought I was going to be, but holy moly do you go through SO much water. It definitely gets really difficult really fast to hike in that heat. Did a scenic drive and found ourselves at the Rio Grande River, which was warm, and I REGRET not bringing my bathing suit!

Finding mountain lion tracks was a little spooky (found twice, actually), and the cave hotel was absolutely mind-blowing. It's legit built into the side of a mountain and is absolutely worth EVERY PENNY! If you EVER get the chance, you should 100% do it.

I apologize for the absence this week, but this is what was happening. It was nice to unplug for a few days and just exist.

Hey, you take care of you! Those views were amazing! Glad you’re able to do things like this! Keep being the awesome person you are!

trumpet4life

Most definitely those views and being with people you enjoy makes it all worth it That’s a great idea going back when it’s a little cooler and being able to go hiking more often would be awesome

Jonathan dobrick

The views are amazing!

Abadon

Oh yeah, the heat was KILLER but it was all worth it. I do want to attempt a few days in cooler weather so I can hike more!

Abadon

Dude, that place is 1000% on my bucket list, so cool you got to spend time there!

Brian Peary

That's fair, and you are right! It's vital to our mental health and just overall health for just unwind and reset!

Abadon

But that means at one point there WAS Tito's in it so my point stands LOL

Josh Howard

It was definitely worth it. It's mostly recommended during cooler times but the caves get booked up frequently!

Abadon

Hahah that was just a box to out dry goods in! 🤣

Abadon

I spy a Tito's box. If you're gonna stay hydrated might as well get the very best 😁. And good for you going dark for a few days. Nothing resets the brain better than unplugging and taking in life as you make it, not as it's fed one post/tweet at a time.

Looks amazing, I love getting lodges and cabins in the mountains, I’ll try the desert next time.

zero reason to apologize, disconnecting is so good and vital!! these views look fucking AMAZING!! getting to see the stars in a night sky without light pollution is increasingly rare, very happy that you got to experience it ☺️☺️

Daisy

No need to be sorry it’s perfectly fine to disconnect and enjoy life take time to yourself and recharge thank you for sharing these beautiful photos with us That heat is no joke I’m glad it has not hit those temps yet where i live it’s like that all summer and it’s rough Hope you are doing well and having a wonderful Monday
