Wednesday Morning

Just wanted to share some Wednesday morning thoughts with all of you.

As I sit on my balcony, listening to the warm rain drinking a nice cup of coffee it came across like happiness to me. There are no racing thoughts, no anxiousness, no sadness. The warm vanilla coffee so soothing and the sound of the rain calming. The smell of it. It's nice.

I havent done anything like this in a while where I just enjoy the quiet. (It's hard for me to enjoy quiet because my brain is VERY VERY loud and rude) however today it's just been nice. Today is a good mental health day. 😌 I want things to be like this all the time. I know I can't have the good without the bad, I just want the bad days to get a little easier as I move through my journey of life.

I did something for myself which was uninstall Twitter. The only things you'll see that will be posted there are things related to AEW. I needed the break badly from it and so far, it has been the BEST decision for myself. Learning how to work through dark thoughts has been one of the most complicated and frustrating things I've done. I'm not a pro at it by any means, but I have my good and bad days.

Going to the gym and going to a gymnastics tumble arena has been extremely helpful. It's like expelling all this energy. The best way to describe this is yall remember the remake of Evil Dead? (Don't come for me I fucking LOVE that movie) when she cuts off her arm to stop the spread of the entity? Haha, I mean I'm not cutting off my arm, but when she sounded so relieved saying she felt better 😅 well after I've expelled all that energy that's how i feel 🤣

I know this is gonna be a wall of text but I haven't really shared my thoughts as of late with you guys and just wanted to do that. Ya know? Let yall in a little bit.

What's some things you guys like to do thats calming for you, or helps you feel at peace? Let me know in the comments below! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Whatever allows you to get through your day ya know?

Abadon

Usually what calms me is reading occult books or books on the paranormal. Even just opening to a random page and reading a few paragraphs.

Abadon, I’m literally floored and wish more of these days were possible for you. I told you recently how much you would’ve meant to a younger version of me and how much you being your true self really resonates with young fans. When I just signed up for your Patreon, I did not expect to hear your voice and read your words, they’re both something I fully promise not to share with the world, but I’m so glad I did. I know beyond what we as fans see, there are so many layers to you and that we all feel.. and try our best to get through it. Wrestling was larger than life to me as a kid and teenager, but it means so much more to me now. It helps me escape for a couple of hours from all the hell I’ve been through in the past year and a half. Nearly dying from blood clots on my lungs, my Mom dealing with lung cancer and having two strokes, it’s been incredibly hard. The other things that help me get through are heavy, loud, thrash your face off metal and riding my bike. I feel so at peace and free of thoughts when I’m pedaling through the beautiful neighborhoods here in my city. I’ve met literally thousands of people and befriended so many through the bike scene that I consider them family. They know I don’t drink, I don’t smoke or anything like that, but they accept me and we’re a family. Without them, as well as everything else I would be lost and unsure if I’d be around. When Eddie Kingston spoke recently about getting through life, I was literally crying, feeling like I wasn’t alone. Thank you for doing this, too, because while I’m not 14 years old anymore, I do adore you for You and hope you’ll find more time for peace, because that’s always more important than all the noise ❤️

Michael Murray

Dude the Evil Dead remake is fucking awesome. And so was Jane Levy.

Luke B

Peace. Take your time do what makes you feel comfortable.

My go-to relaxation technique is music. Whether it’s downbeat chill tunes or loud aggressive music, giving my brain something else to focus on always helps. It’s best if I can put my headphones on and lay on my couch.

Why did I instantly think about the wrong scene and thought you were talking about Mia when she had to cut her arm off to live 😅 also right now we are having our Monsoon season so the rain as violent as it can be it's also so calming

Great job and cutting off social media is very good for your mental health. I did that during the start of the pandemic. Twitter has become a very dark place when it comes to social media. I got rid of that one first. I only keep tabs on Facebook for my family and close friends. Instagram is about the only kind of safe place but even that can get a little bad sometimes. Shutting off news and and negative social media will help you stay in a nice shiny happy place. And also listening to really good heavy metal can be soothing after a hard day.😁 I recommend Rammstein. To me great after a hard day at work. Take care and enjoy the day!

Thank you, Anything 4 Smiles. I had a pleasant surprise - I remembered my tickets wrong. We're going to be on TV

I live in a small country town in Australia so it's great to be able to just go for a walk outside and listen to the birds and stuff. It's very relaxing. I have kept handwritten journals for nearly 15 years and I find it's good to write in those about what's going on. It really helps to put my thoughts down on paper and slow my brain down. I also started collecting typewriters a couple of years ago so typing on them is really relaxing as well. I usually make myself a cup of coffee and sit and type for a while whether its a journal thing or just typing out a to-do list. Highly recommend it. It is hard sometimes to be able to find the time or energy to relax and be able to sit and just be there for a while but it's worth it and important when you are able to do that. Looking after your mental health is a very important lesson and something I personally neglected for a long time but I'm getting better at it now. Also the Evil Dead remake is my favourite movie of all time. It's so good!

i spend 15-30 minutes in isolation tank once a month or when things start to get a little too stressful. along going to the gym followed by 30 minutes of meditation a day. which is not an easy thing to do, my brain doesn’t quiet down for a little bit. not for everyone but works for me

JP

Working on a project at home or something mechanical by myself. Even though it is chaos, getting in the pit at a concert. I think clearly during and after and I am calmer after the project is done or the show is over. The gym occasionally helps if I don’t get stuck in my head. If I can’t do any of that because of nagging injuries from work, watching something I can shut my mind off to. Point break, big trouble in little china, evil dead ll, army of darkness, top gear/grand tour, jackass and wildboyz are my go to. To everyone who reads this, have a day that is as awesome as you are

Agoraphobic looter

I collect 80s cartoon action figures (GI Joe, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Masters of the Universe, Ghostbusters, Transformers, etc) along with wrestling figures. I've found that setting up scenes while displaying them is cathartic to the chaos that is my life. I'm a single dad with a few mental health issues of my own (bpd, anxiety, and who knows what else) raising a 13 year old alone and work 6 days a week to keep everything afloat, so my free time is usually spent catching up on sleep. A lifetime ago, making music with my best friend and a couple of other partners in crime was the best therapy I ever had. It helped me get out what was clouding up both my brain and heart.

I just escaped from a very controlling relationship, so, not having much experience I started a meal service and Learning, but so far the Asian noodle dishes are super yum!

Kurt

I play old video games; some I played as a kid and some I really wanted to but only saw them in game magazines. The Evil Dead remake rules!

Lokinomicon

On the relaxation front, tea, "herbs", video game music, a long walk all definitely help me. Hope you're doing well, it's sucks that one of the best tools to get to know and interact with cool people like yourself is also filled with people that can't find peace within themselves and thrive off of negativity. Stay strong Abby

RedCyclone

Hello have you ever just did some bike riding or just go out to eat by yourself to just enjoy the scenery 💜💜

Larr Remarkable

Have fun and enjoy Emi vs Shida. Thats my main event right there.

Anything 4 Smiles

Twitter can be a very toxic place indeed. I hope you are feeling better and every week with Abadon on TV or Youtube, is a fantastic one. Take care.

Anything 4 Smiles

yoga and meditation help me a lot, and so does watching wrestling. glad you found some peace and clarity today.

Dave K

Love this. Proud of you and have much love for you. It killed us to not be at the night session of Dark the other night, but we hope you loved the new Abadon section signs 🖤

MissFanCulture - Amanda

It was also the only time I got sunlight for a while because I have just enough mental awareness to know I was gonna get real Smeagol real quick if I didn't find a way to go outside once in a while.

Justin Clark

Reading all yalls comments is so comforting to me 🥰 I love knowing what brings yall peace. Learning from all of you helps me

Abadon

Listening to lo-fi beats tends to be relaxing to me.

Rainy mornings on the porch are the best! I'm squeezing in as much porch time as possible since the Ohio weather is gonna start getting colder. I honestly can't think of a better way to enjoy some peace than sitting outside and watching nature. Sometimes, even a book is too much. I need to watch the breeze blowing the trees, or catch a view of a butterfly or hummingbird that I would have otherwise missed. Cooking a meal from scratch is a close second. I like putting on some music, prepping my ingredients and just losing myself in the process of it all. No interest in trying to fly through it like the people on the TV shows. Just going through the steps and letting things fire up all the senses. ☺️ Your peaceful morning sounds positively idyllic! I hope it set the pace for the day to come. You certainly deserve it.

Ed

Nothing is more helpful than a mental health day. Last few months have been rough for me, my mom passed away and I've been back in therapy to get myself back to normal. But taking personal days off have been ideal for me. Enjoy your break, from Twitter and your struggles and enjoy your peace and comfort.

Bryan M. Davis

Oooo what do you like to cook?

Abadon

Whenever there's a thunderstorm, I go out to my porch area and set my laptop up and will start something on steam and just listen to the rain while I play something ( Usually Garry's Mod or RE2 Remake) and just let myself relax. it's so calming even when my brain is screaming at me or telling me horrible things it just all melts away. during the August - November (Spooky) season, I work as a scare actor and there I can step out of myself for a bit and just let loose. I love to scare, and that actually helps my mental state because even though it is a job, it feels more like play. yes there are days where it feels like my brain has dropped this dark cloud over my head and I struggle to keep going, but those are what usually help me.

NeganMOX

Awe I'm glad you enjoyed this thank you! Also hands down that is SUCH a great way to just chill. Water and reading! 100% such a soothing thing to do!

Abadon

Mental health days are good, take a break from the craziness that is everyday life. I like to nap, or play video games to calm my mind. I also like to hit my heavy bag and create new punches and kick combos, it’s calming to my mind. Enjoy your Wednesday.

Daniel McCarthy

Twitter is the worst!!! good call on removing that shit for a bit, i can't imagine how hard it is with a big following. My usual comforts are usually driving when the air is nice or laying down and forcing myself to not do things for once lol. I also think a vanilla latte is on the menu for lunch now ☺️ i hope the good waves keep coming for you!! you're doing amazing 🙂🙂

Daisy

I know quite a few people who like to go on drives. It makes sense though. I did the same thing during the pandemic just because I wanted the focus and music part

Abadon

Things that give me peace are very simple. In the winter I go in my room and put the heater on my face and watch TV. Other times it's being outside with the dog and going into the woods and explore with her.

Roddie MacNeil

Thank you! Today is one of those good days and wanted to share that with everyone. I show yall the bad side so I figured the good side was also deserving of a post! Video game diving and doing projects is a great way to stay focused or distracted which is great. It really is haha. I wish the ending was better but the whole movie is great to me!

Abadon

I like to put on a comfort show and just relax. Bob's Burgers, The Office, or Hamilton. Also, when it's nice and cool outside, I'll take a book and some hot chocolate, and just sit next to a fire a read, enjoying the beautiful nature around me. And if all else fails, music. Glad you're doing well! Never stop making yourself happy. :)

Rob Whaley

Watching movies and cooking seems to help quiet my thoughts.

Kurt

I do that too! I love getting bundled up in bed or on the couch and just chill watching movies that just make you feel 😌 like that emoji hahaha

Abadon

This was my favorite post of yours yet. I love the pics and stuff but this was so nice to read. My calming place is the peninsula. I live on Lake Erie and every Friday after work I grab a book and park by the lake and either read or just listen to the water.

Len Kierzek

Driving, oddly enough. It means I can't get distracted by anything electronic, except to put music on, and Im forced to focus. Just invaluable quiet brain time, in the early days of the pandemic especially.

Justin Clark

Definitely applaud you for taking the stand to reach for greater mental health! When I need that kind of day, I know specific music can help, playing some video games, work on projects to keep the mind occupied, etc. Also, The Evil Dead remake is awesome!

Julian Safrit

You're inspiring. I've been struggling with mental health myself for the past couple months. What brings me some peace and happiness is streaming on Twitch - both as a streamer and being a mod for someone who started as a streamer to me but has evolved into my friend. Watching AEW helps, too (and I'll be at Dynamite tonight, seated on the hard camera side). Other than that, my thoughts deafen me. I'm taking steps, however paperwork to get help is dragging my help from starting out. Seeing this post gives me hope.

almightyscorpion

I enjoy just watching any sentimental films I watched when I was a kid or teen. I'm not talking Oscar winners but more genre classics like Con Air, Independence Day, Ferris Buellers day off among others. Comfort films you know? Happy to hear you're happy ♥️
